Whats up guys, my name is Chris. Im a 23 year old single dad, pc tech/student from the little town of Magnolia, AR. I currently only own an 03 Civic Si with a Cybernation turbo kit (turbonetics T60-1 blower), but am considering going back to stock and getting a Supra. I'm mainly here to just familiarize/educate myself on the greatness that is the MKIII Supra. :icon_razz

sniper, whats wrong with a civic? a turbo civic will pull my attention away from my car. ( for a few minutes. Then i have to shoo away all the nut swingers. -_-)

Welcome Chris.

sorry, no pics of the civic at the moment. its all stock on the outside, so nothing special to really look at. no tint, random dings, ~2inch drop on progress springs riding on stock shocks. i have some tokico D-specs to replace my worn stock shocks, but havent had a chance to install them yet.

as far as times, i would expect high 13s considering my limited experience and the horrible 60fts i was pulling while stock. with a decent driver i would say mid to low 13s on street tires. high 12s are capable with a better tune and slicks, but thats not something im going for. i have a stock clutch and im scared of killing it right now, so no drag racing.

the civic is my daily driver, so im really wanting to just return it to stock and get something else to play with (supra!).

are auto supras really that bad? there happens to be a turbo supra local to me (which is really rare for this area) that i know i could get for cheap, but its an auto. ive always heard rumors, that i stock form, the auto MKIIIs were actually faster than the manual, but i dont know if i believe it.

You should look at jdub's or IJ.'s auto supras, they will spank any 5 spd making the same power every time ;).

lol! yeah, i dont plan on putting so much into the supra as they have.. i cant afford all that! right now i was just thinking about using my turbonetics T60-1 with a custom manifold, buying two more siemens 650cc injectors, a walbro pump, lexus afm, 2.5 hard pipes, custom 3in down/exhaust, and using my spearco intercooler. hopefully i can run all of this around 10lbs on the stock block :icon_conf
ive seen some automatic cars run nearly a full second slower in the quarter than an identical manual version.. hope this isnt the case with the supra, cause its looking more and more like im going to have to settle for an auto

Great thing about an auto supra on the track is instaspool and boost. You'll need a two-step to get that out of a manual ;).
whaaaat, isn't that the opposite? on a manual car you can build boost by revving to like 3000rpm and then dumping the clutch? is there something i'm missing?

Try that at the track and see how it works out. You can't build much (if any boost at all by just reving to 3K. You'll need a two-step set at ~5K RPMs to build some decent boost for a good launch. And the autos already have that by gassing and breaking at the same time from a stand still ;).
