First of all, I already know that I sound like a hillbilly, so don't bother reminding me. Second, I was hitting fuelcut at 18-20 psi on every run so I don't actually get any good dyno numbers. My wastegate kept shutting at ten psi and then it would spike to twenty in about a second..............BAM fuel cut. I'm taking my turbo off tomorrow and having the wastegate checked. I apologize for the poor quality. The only reason I'm posting it is this is the first time I've got something to upload. I will redyno turesday or wednesday and I will try to get better footage. Where would you like the camera to be on while dynoing? The engine and then the computer to see the numbers, or on the avcr and boost gauge to show how much boost I'm running? Let me know and I will try again next week. Thanks.

I was making about 340 hp when it would hit fuel cut, but that was at about 4000rpm.

I posted the link in the first post. That was about the third or fourth run when I started recording. One good thing is he adjusted my fuel so I wasn't running quite so rich at idle and just loping around. I noticed that I didn't pop so much going home and it idled like a dream at redlights.

Please, for the love of god, put the camera on a tripod or at least just leave it wide angle and set it on a bench or stool or something! Camera 101! sheesh

Ya know I love ya man, but a cameraman you are not! hehe

I love the sound though, you 5spd'ers get to hear that whoosh sound so often  . But at least my turbo stays spooled up :naughty: (I havent owned an automatic for at least 10 years till now, Im kinda starting to enjoy it)

What were the numbers you were getting at least, granted they werent a full flawless pull, but I would still be curious to know.

That's not hillbilly, if you just added "dude" in every sentence I would think you were from around here :biglaugh:

What boost controller do you have? Or are you just running the right spring for the boost you are running? What injectors are you running?

I've seen mine peg the boost gauge to about where the 25 psi mark would be and it still didn't hit fuel cut.

I have the apexi avc-r, but we disconnected it completely after two or three fc episodes. The wastegate is suppose to be set at 14 psi, but it's totally screwed. It act like it's stuck open at low boost and then shuts at 10 psi.

I'm running the 550 injectors with the lexus afm.

I apologize about the filming. I was watching the boost gauge and just holding the camera. Everytime I hit fuelcut it sounds like someone just launched a grenade in that small building. The camera doesn't do it justice. I will do better next time...................lol

Weezl, I love your new avatar and sig. I didn't' even recognize you. I was making around 340-350 at about 4200 rpm iirc. I had him print out the dyno just to have it even though I never got to reach full hp potential.
I have the turbo xs bov and it's pretty loud, but I like it, and for the record, I never claimed to be a camera man........................;)
The only reason I loaded this up was to see if I could. My last dyno I couldn't get to load up. I will see if I can find it and load it up.

So even with the vacuum line going directly from the turbo outlet to the wastegate it was still spiking to 20 psi? That could only be the wastegate, like you said. I took mine apart and polished the shaft before I put it on the car just to be sure it would work smoothly.

So far with my NA I have been very lucky not to hit it........:biglaugh: Ok so next week when you try again mabey get a shot from the front of the car first pull. Then for the second get a full interior cluster shot. Then finally the computer along with the car in the third..... Ok thats my two cents!!!!

Thanks guys for not reminding me how silly I sound on video.................:biglaugh:

Aaron, if it's not the wastegate them I'm stumped, but Blake(the tuner) and Keith both agreed with me. Blake said he actually had the same problem with his mustang that he races. Fixed the wastegate spring and it worked perfectly to the tune of 6.11 in an 1/8 and 9.40 in a quarter. I'm pretty sure that's what he said it ran.

Soup, I will definately hold the camera better next time and do as you requested. One on the engine, one on the avc-r and dash, and one on the computer. I'll hold it steady as I can, but if I hit FC again, I'm throwing the camera through the fan.........................:biglaugh:

Kwnate, Vonda was working. One of us has to work while I'm playing on the dyno................:biglaugh:

Yes, I have internal wastegate. Hopefully it's an easy fix and he'll do it while I wait...................:x:

I think you can do the "screw mod" on the Lex too.(?):dunno: That buys you a couple more psi on the stock afm, so it should on the Lex also.

Since my wastegate is a HKS copy, I put a real HKS 10psi spring in it because I have heard that the only part that is not up to par on the china wg's is the spring it comes with, and the shaft should be polished.
