Nice work. Can't wait to tear mine apart and clean just a fraction of what you've done.

Honestly, you don't want this car, it's a shed - just look at the pictures the whole engine fell out & everything :biglaugh:

what do you do for a living that you can afford to do all of this bc i wanna get in on it!!!

I just do domestic, commercial & vehicle electrics, lighting & sound/AV. Mainly house electrics for the bread & butter money.

I don't earn very much in reality, particularly since the banks & government stole all our money:: angry :: very modest.

I got a decent insurance payout for a mildly wrecked MK3 aero limited when my insurance company at the time - groupama - wrote my car off for the sake of bent bumper hangers on the lamest of arguments in the world! There is a whole thread on it linked at the beginning of the build above.

This black aero came up for sale virtually the same day I got the insurance cheque on fleabay for just under half what it was worth thanks to a sales guy not knowing what he had. I contacted him immediately & he accepted a cash offer & was beside himself when I just turned up & drove the thing away without so much as a barter. When you know something is too good to be true you need to get in and out quick!:icon_bigg

So with the insurance payout & stopping spending on myself virtually completely I have been able to undertake this project including kitting out the workshop.

The other saving is everything I do myself so, there are no shop charges - just time, which is basically free.

My luckiest break was having the garage added to the house for which I can only thank my folks. It's been an absolute gem & this would have been an absolute killer without it in the climate here & I'd never have gone as far as I have.

Be good if it all works some time eh?!

I can't believe how many details you are addressing! Everything is just stunning. It's so far beyond just a build/re-build...You are remanufacturing your own car!
