Your manifold is going to be flanged for a 40mm HKS wastegate. Downside is this wastegate is like $500-$600. I bought Tial 38mm flanges and a Tial 38mm wastegate so Im just going to have to cut the old wastegate flange off and weld the Tial on.

Your not running a ridiculous amount of power or boost so a 38mm would be perfectly fine. Brent has been helping me figure out my wastegate situation because he has the same manifold and wastegate, he dyno'd 700+rwhp too with no wastegate problems.

That's a tiny turbo for 4 banger civic. All that work for 53mm turbo. A lot easier and cheaper with ct26 57 trim, same horsepower. I guess use whatever wastegate your manifold is flanged for.

A smaller wastegate will let you build high boost easily, but a larger wastegate will control that boost better.

Think of a wastegate as a power restictor.

The paradox with WG's is the more boost you run or the looser the AR the less gate you need as it's not bypassing much volume to control the shaft speed.

If you have a big turbo with a tight AR that you want to run low boost you need a huge gate.
