Ford GT ran the whole road course in 2nd gear. That's torque advantage there. Even if the Supra was set up for turns I really think the GT would have still edged him out on the last two events.

I agree, there. Cars are very similar in weight / power levels - I'm willing to bet that both of 'em are limited by traction - and everything else being even, the guy with no turbo lag will usually win. Non turbo cars tend to have more power under the curve.

Still, I hate the foregone conclusion and bringing a car setup for the wrong thing was exactly that.

Lol i dont think the $100,000 more for the GT is worth the 1 second difference in the road course, and the supra was faster in the drag, a bit sad if you ask me but still some great cars.

i was just talking about this today.
why pay 2 million for a veyron with 1000hp when you could just pay like 20,000 for a supra and mod it to 1000hp lol

I come from a land down under
Because the Veyron will make it's 1000hp all day long in every condition....

Veyron is the deal of the century and will never be seen again, only downside to it is the upkeep.

I'm just glad they freaking backed their words! A lot of people round here talk the talk day in and day out but always find a reason to avoid an all out race. A lot of the higher dollar car guys wont even consider a run unless they know its a win.. guessing its something to do with the $$$ spent on the car. Cant tarnish the record now can we!?

I'd like to see a highway pull, 50-200mph...

this is true, but how many 2jz's could you buy for 1 million ?

I think i'd rather spend my million on something other than a 2j, maybe a nice Mercedes. lol
In all the guys that raced clearly had fun although i really have no idea why they chose such a boring way to race each other.
A 3 lap race of a decent track followed by the drag strip then maybe a 0-300kph finale race would have been great to watch.
1000hp cars and they are slalom racing through witches hats? That's a test i'd do for a Wrx or Evo .

I personally think a million is way to much for a car. I don't care how over engineered it is. Although a 2 mill pagoni zonda r would be sweet lol but Idk that new Lexus lfa sounds like sex to

You better have a whole lot more than a million to own a Veyron... There are better cars that have less upkeep on them for that price (plus are faster in more than a straight line)

If I had a million for a single car, it'd probably be either a Ferarri F40 or Porsche 917. Possibly a road car variant (they exist!) of either the Toyota GT-ONE or Nissan R390...

I think I would pass on the Veyron and pickup a used Lambo. Take it to UGR and have fun with the rest of the $800,000+

Two douchebags talking trash and going to race.

What I really want to know is, how the HELL someone with a MULLET has the money for a Ford GT...
