That sounds easy enough I wonder how close I am to running 12's now? But to keep this on topic that Supra seems to be running pretty strong with those few mods should help that motor breath a lot easier and make more power. When are you going to take it to the track 1joezee?

it's never that easy. what cars can do and what driver's can make them do are always two different things. I'm sure you know that though.

just because EVOs have AWD doesn't mean they'll always run consistent 12s or wahtever it is with whatever mods. AWD doesn't make the car idiot proof.:) Still takes skill. I've never driven an AWD turbo car. I'd be interested in trying and seeing how it is.

as far as my car, opening up the exhaust on a 1J does wonders(but that can be said about most turbo cars). Not sure when I'll take it to the track. I don't care much for drag racing to be honest. I've never been down the 1/4 mile and don't plan to anytime soon. I just enjoy driving my car alot.

i have test drove an EVO 8 and i luved every minute of it b/c i didnt own it or have to pay for it (so i ran the piss out of it and scared the salesman :evil2: )

there quick, they handle good, and look alright but theres no big woopie thing about it.

i would take one for free as a DD but i would never buy one its just something about the Supra that make ppl quiver in their shoes when they get asked to race around my area at least (maybe it could've been the way i filled them up with SOOO MUCH BS) lol:evil2:

Supra now, Supra forever it just gets better and better everytime i drive one!!!

I can honestly say yes you do need a good driver to help make the car fast, I would consider it 90% driver 10% car. As far as opening up the exhaust for my car it made a world of a difference. It pulls a lot harder and doesn't drop off at the top-end like it use to. But when I put the FMIC in that's when the real fun began, it pulls even harder, spools faster and is all around better driving. My last car was a low 13sec car(FWD limited but trapped 109mph) and now my Evo feels exactly the same. It starts to pull and just keeps on going and going untill redline. I haven't done anything else to it besides cat-back and intercooler and after I get my injectors and fuel pump I will be well on my way to having the power I want. At that point I will be happy with my car and don't plan on pushing it past that point. If I want to go faster I will go get in my Supra(once it is running) and really go have fun.

That's pretty quick, for just exhaust and boost controler, yes the awd launch helps out a lot. I raced Evos and they would jump out about 2-3 car lenghts while I was spinning my tires(Civic-boosted)and then I was always playing catch-up. I would catch them after I got it into third then I would blow by them. I thought why keep wasting my time trying to catch-up and just try to keep it even on the launch and worry more about pulling away after. I like the car a lot more now that it isn't so slow, I say that because you are only as fast as the cars and drivers you beat. Yeah I can say my car is faster than a Si, RSX, NeonSRT, blah, blah. But what about those supercars Viper,Corvett, Porsche, Lambo, Single Turbo MK4? That is what I want to be able to run with 11's or faster. I know that with 400awhp I won't be extremely fast, but it will be a lot faster than it is now.

he put down 290hp 290tq on an all wheel drive dyno to the wheels. I put down 270hp 292 tq in the supra with an mbc @ 10psi stock catback 120k mi cat. Took the catback off (ran open dp), turned the boost up to 13psi and slapped some drag radials on and bested at 14.02. that would make my hp and torque MORE than his evo, but he's still 1.6 seconds faster. HP doesn't mean everything.
A good driver and a properly setup car makes a hell of a difference
He's also running 20psi.

That is some good power, I dynoed 282hp 257lbft but I need to get my o2 replaced(check engine light) so it is running a little rich. The boost stock I think is about 18-19psi but it doesn't hold it to redline. I have heard it only holds 18-19psi until about 4k then it quickly drops off to about 11psi at redline. As far as horsepower you still need that to get you going down the track.
