Supra Transmission Fluid Change

I have a manual N/A and want to switch the transmission fluid to redline mt90, as I do not know what the previous owner had in it, or when the last time he changed it.


I bought 3 quarts of the stuff and will bring to a garage to have it put in.

The person I talked with said that they could have a machine purge the tranny if the filter was an external filter, but not if it was internal.

Which is it?

It internal if anything. Auto are the only supras that have flyid leave the tranny.(to get cooled)

You need to first go and buy another quart. Its a 3.5 quart system.

Next drain it from the drain plug. There will also be another plug close by. Its above and on the side of the tranny. Take that one out.

This is how I fill I take the shifter out. Carefully pour until a little comes out of that second plug you pulled.
Put it back together and enjoy. Mt-90 is the shit!

Thanks... so should I worry about flushing it out with cheap fluid, drive a day or two then use redline?

My transmission oil was sitting for years, it was nasty, I let it drain FULLY, poured a little bit of old (but still new in bottle) cheap gear oil to 'rinse' some of the old crap out, let it drain some more, and then fill it with the MT90 and you're good

There is no filter in our M/T's
