I'm about to go look at a supra that is supposedly in perfect condition except the stater solenoid doesn't work. I want to test this out and also if possible start it up.
If I took a 12v connection straight from the battery and ran in across the starter solenoid would the car start? as long as the key is is position 2? or is it smarter than that? (looks like the starter has its own connection, and ground must be from where it is bolted, but correct me if I'm wrong)
If that doesn't work and you see a red supra getting pushed down a hill then don't worry... i'll just be trying to start it
i'll also get under there with a multimeter while the owner holds it in position 3... if it's not getting 12v i'll keep my mouth shut, and hope its a relay or clutch switch, or something simple, because the only reason it's going so cheap is he can't do mechanical work
