Bad supra... BAD SUPRA!

Stupid ass car is leaking oil between the front cover and the head....

I don't want to pull the head off, but I can't take having an oil leak. Then I'll have to buy a new 200 dollar head gasket and so on and so fourth...

And then it starts, you all know the supra game...

Well, if I'm going to pull the head off, I might as well pull the motor.. Scratch that I have to because of the studs. Well, since it'll be out and the head off, might as well check the bearings and rings and all.. They have a little wear it seems...(motor has been making over 400whp for about 10k miles and over 500 on the occasional race gas stint) , might as well throw some rings and bearings in it...

Then, oh wait, I still have race preped stock rods, may as well change those too.... Guess I should get some cams too

$1500 oil leak anyone?

Bearings - $150
Rings - $100 (for wisecos)
Head Gasket $200
gaskets $100
Rods $600-$800
Cams $500
Plugs $15
Oil + filter $50
MISC $100

What should I do? I mean, its only a couple of drops every thousand miles or so... but it bothers the shit out of me

/end rant

I know how you feel, I hate it when there are very small leaks that you really dont want to f**k with, but yet its enough to worry about.... I would say that if you have the time and the money to do it, then go for it. If not then I would wait till you do and do it all at once. thats my .02

Fix it you lazy bastar...... The last thing the rest of us needs is a broken, leaking Supra dragging down the name.

j/k

Actually, I know exactly how you feel. My engine sprang a leak in the same spot a little while back... I'm currently waiting for the $1800 I need to fix my oil leak.

It's a writeoff, get rid of it!:icon_evil Aside from the environmental damage from all that oil being spewed about, it's gonna make it hard to eat dinner off that thing anymore...

You can fix it without taking it all apart. I know you can!

I'd like to know the secret to that.... no wait, maybe I don't. This leak has sort of become a source of motivation for me.

that sucks man, but i know how you feel i have a small oil leak from the passage in the block for the oil squirters.... it is just the 10 mm plug that blocks the passage off, but i cant get to it without taking my exhaust mani off. :nono:

you will eventually have to tho.... it will eat at you until you cry.

Actually once you're done removing all the nuts, you can take out each stud and pop the head right off!
