Supra in Kanji

im not sure if its kanji or not, but i believe someone here had "Supra" written in japanese characters, though it may have been something else.

anyone got "Supra" in japanese characters?

im getting a few ideas on either writing it somewhere on the car or asking an artist friend of mine to create a personificated character of my car and somehow incorporate it into the car.

I had three years of Japanese in college, and as a brand name, "Supra" would most likely not ever be written in kanji. It would most likely be written in katakana, therefore what cwapface posted is correct. In addition, the word Toyota most likely can be represented in Kanji because it is probably someone's name, and while it would normally be written in Hiragana because it is a Japanese word, it would likely also be written in Katakana because the Japanese people think that it looks cooler that way. You see things like that in advertising in Japan, but particularly in cars. Any Kanji representation of the word "Supra" is probably just a combination of different characters that have the combined reading of Supra, but those kanji in that combination probably would have no real meaning together.

I could be wrong, it's been a while since I studied Japanese, but a friend of mine who is fluent and has lived there said that I am probably correct.

lol, its not a tattoo. im just gonna implement the word somehow into the car itself and a character im gonna ask to be drawn. still a long way to 50 too.

After seeing a 240sx here with the kanji for Honda on the back, I have decided that japanese characters on cars is just ridiculous. Even JDM cars have english badges and names.

hehe. i was actually thinking of having the word inscribed on the front bottom part of the hood (not on top, underneath). on another corner, my gf's name in the same style, since she has helped quite a lot with it.

that's close but bad. i'm surprised that native speakers haven't jumped on this yet, i took 2 terms of japanese in college but the only useful thing i learned was how to look up/translate japanese online

Turbo = ターボ literally pronounced 'tah-bo'

At least on King Buyer's site, all the 2.5 a70's are listed as ２ターボ

then, for example: ２．５ＧＴ２ターボ　Ｔ-78タービン 2.5GT 2 Turbo T-78 Turbine
