Looking for some info. Suppose I buy an aristo 2jzgte and adhere to CA smog laws. I know its a legal swap and would involve a referee to inspect. What all would I need from a USDM 2jzgte to get an Aristo swap legal. I realize the Aristo is missing all the smog equip and I'm hoping someone out there has a list of USDM parts I could begin to aquire to make this swap legal. I recently picked up a nice pearl white 87 turbo auto with a blown motor for 1300.00 so now I'm in the process of research on which direction I want to lean too. I really believe the 2j would satisfy me in the long run. I would prefer the post doesn't turn into 2jzgte versus 7mgte contest.

If you goto toyota and buy these parts individually you will end up with a 320hp smog legal car that cost you 2X more then what it would cost to get a factory 320hp MKIV

You must buy or aquire
All the swap parts 1JZGTE mounts tranny adapters depeding which one you use.
Deal with the swap wiring nightmare
USDM 2JZGTE head not JDM
US 2JZGTE factory exhaust, wiring harness AFM ECU EVAP system EGR system US spec Sensors

Also if you goto BAR more then likely they will run the S# stamped on the block so you might have to buy a US spec 2JZGTE block then whats the point of getting the aristo engine?

You will in the long run spend enough time and money more then it would take you to build 2 500HP 1JZGTE swap cars.

Also it would be simpler to just buy another running 7MGE mkiii for 1200 like I did and use that car to drive into the smog then put that plate on your 1JZGTE swapped supra.

Better yet register out of state or pay a smog buddy 100 and some how it passes for him?
