ok so ive done a few searches and cant answer all my questions, a few are taken care of already tho, my unanswered quesitons are

1. other than hardwiring will i have to modify my guage cluster? as in will i be able to take my clock out and put the SM in?

2. how hard is it to mount?

3. will it work in my 89 na as it should for a pre 89 na

No mod to gauge cluster, but you do need to pull the cluster cover off and unbolt a few things.

Hardware bolts into the existing mounting holes for CPU under dash

It worked in my 90.

It is a lot of work to integrate the harness. You will need to pull apart the dash and run wires to the cluster, clock plug, , ECU ABS and ECT computers (if you have A/T). I wrote up a detailed wiring diagram but got tired off sending it to unappreciative jerks who couldn't even email a thank you back.

There is no difference, but there IS a switch on the silver box on the Super Monitor. Since we know the internals are different on the N/A and Turbo (should be anyway, since they are labelled and parted differently), the switch is probably for manual/auto (Upper left area above the label).

ive put a sm from a 87 turbo 5 speed into my 86.5 n/a auto. had to hardwire it in. it is a B!! but it worked. had some issues, but worked em out. anything that had to do with fuel (mpg and, gallons used, and gallons left i believe) were innaccurate. but it was a good project, and dont regret it. in fact i ripped out the sm when my car got hit. lol

That's not surprising since the fuel calibration is different between turbo and N/A. The Turbo uses larger injectors so the conversion from injector pulse width to fuel volume is different. This is also why it becomes inaccurate if you put larger injectors on.

I've flipped that switch on teh side and not seen any difference. At one time there was a rumor that is was metric/English units, but that is definitely not true.
