Mine is on the hotside of the intercooler.

It makes little* difference IMO where you put it. Venting hot pre-chilled air makes more sense to me than venting chilled air. The air stops at the TB very quickly so venting near the source of pressure (at the turbo) makes more sense than trying to keep forcing air through an intercooler before you force it through the BOV, overcoming a barrier (the intercooler) just to blow out of the pipe. Not exactly the ideal path.

Your throttle body will not break because you aren't running a BOV, the turbo could be a different story and should be the focus to relieve pressure there. People get really scared of surge when they pay $2000 for a turbo, others don't care. If it works for you the way you want it, great.

The hot side of the intercooler usually has more pressure than closer to the TB anyway, as all intercoolers have pressure drop meaning more PSI on the hotside than the cold side.

Those are the points of my argument for the BOV to be on the hot side of the intercooler because anyway you slice it there's always more pressure there, and it might even help with flutter.

+1

Hence why the stock BOV on the 1JZ is on the *Hot* side
