I'm with everyone else above. My girl got a nice necklace and bracelet that she wanted for her birthday. She wouldn't even THINK of asking me to pay for a dress that costs that much. Especially if she knows I got the money by saving over time for something that I really want. I don't neglect her by any means but she knows our budget and sticks to it. She saves for jewelry/purses/shoes she wants and I save for car/computer parts that I want and we budget nice things for each other for special occasions.

You haven't revealed your situation (age, seriousness of relationship, what the dress is for...) but any girl who whines to her friends about not having some $500+ dress is bad news. You can say today that it's for her Bday AND Christmas but is she just gonna want another dress come Christmas?

Actually, I still need to build my exhaust for my car. If there's enough interest, I might be able to get something set up to make everything behind the downpipe bolt up and make more. Unofficially of course. This is likely still a ways out, but the big name exhausts are all incredibly tough to find or have close to a month of waiting.

I walked into Titan and walked out with a Blitz NUR Spec. Not hard to find and no waiting ;)

Haha and how long ago was that? I believe the NUR spec is on backorder for a few weeks. Interestingly enough, the HKS old school and Dragger exhausts as well as downpipes are in stock. Who knows how long THAT will last though, that stuff is tough to source!

Feel free to update it with your car as well
I know it's cocky, but I dont think theres a car that sounds better than mine actually. Maybe it's nostalgia, but I fell in love with my Type S with stripped housing turned all the way loose. It never shuts up, and it has a different sound for each inch of vacuum/pressure hahaha.

That said, it hasn't run in years :(. I'm saving up now to get it back to driveable status. I need random odd parts like a steering rack, and to reassemble the whole thing. The tank will have to be dropped and cleaned out (anybody have any fun ideas of things to do with 10+ gallons of bad 93 octane gas?), new fuel pump and hangar, lines, cleaned injectors, etc. etc. It's a total mess. When it is up and running again, I'll be getting all sorts of video of it.

As previously stated...a girl that complains about having a dress that $$$ is bad news, unless you heard her say it jokingly. Material things aren't the beat way to show a girl you really love her anyway (in any worthwhile relationship).

Sugar daddy issues aside, I have a HKS one that looks stock but is 3" and flows great but my God is it quiet. I have a aftermarket 3" downpipe along with a test pip as well. I even unbolted the rear muffler section and it wasn't loud. I have a Megan racing muffler in my garage that's brand new that I think I'm going to fab up myself with SS piping and flanges and have a friend weld it ^.^

LOL. It was at last years Titan Dyno Day/Open House and it was actually the one that was on their wall as a display. 7M + DP w/open elbow + no cat + NUR Spec = :biggrinki

I was looking for an HKS LET-T16 (the 3" one that looks like stock) and was at the open house. Decided to ask about a MKIII exhaust and they gave me a deal on the NUR Spec (I'll just say I didn't pay near what they go for now but it was still more than an HKS would have run me). Thankfully one of my then local MKIII buddies showed up as I was finalizing the deal to help me carry it out.

For the downpipe I'd suggest BIC. If you can't afford BIC go DM.

Catback I've heard good things about many different ones. I <3 my NUR Spec. Either HKS gets high marks from all owners. People also say good things about the Raptor Racing and Tanabe. It's mostly personal preference. If you're going for more than 600hp look into the 4" offerings from Titan and BIC.

I'll also chime in and mention the RSR, I still think it might be the best sounding exhaust for either a 7m OR JZ. That said, if you plan on taking the car on road trips, try to find one with a silencer. ;)

For daily driving though? Sounds sweeeeeet.

The LET-T16 should be the "old school" HKS exhaust. Sometimes I've found people saying "there's only 6 or so in the U.S." which is simply not true, because we have more than that in stock :biglaugh:

I dont think Titan has a 4" kit, or if they do, it isnt on the webpage. Again, in the distant future, I might consider building my own design and if there's interest, go from there. Especially with the 3" and 4", as BIC doesnt show a 3" on their site, and I dont think there's been a 4" setup for the MkIII for sale.

Honestly, take everything you read with a grain of salt though. Our ears are tuned to specific differences on the 7M, but in all honesty, 90% of 7Ms pretty much all sound the same for the most part. On other cars, you will get different pitch and notes etc. with an exhaust, but over the years, I dont find that much difference between different aftermarket exhausts. Plus, at idle, they're all quite close to being as quiet as a stock car, and I suspect the reason for this is in the head somewhere..

Other then a 3 angle valve job and a minor port both sides my head is stock.

60-1 CT26 with a custom exhaust 3inch turbo back with a duel 2.5 inch tip magnate flow muffler and high flow cat.

Idle sounds like a beast. First thing supra people always notice.

Have you done headwork or ported the exhaust manifold? What turbo do you have, and what exhaust? My T4 with straight piping to a Megan muffler was never terrible, and much quieter than most other cars with a fart can

Which Megan Racing muffler did you have? I have one I'm currently mocking something up for now

I love my toys as much as the next guy (5 bikes, photography gear, tools, computers and 2 four wheel toys) but I gotta say they're just toys. If you have something special with this girl than by all means spoil her now and then. That being said I'm incredibly lucky and have a wife that almost never wants anything and is happy making me happy. She buys me bike/car parts all the time. If you sacrifice for a gift there is nothing better than that happiness in return.

Thanks for all the exhaust info though guys, I need to replace my stock exhaust.

Probably the same one as you. Check your PMs.

You really do. I will admit that with the stock exhaust on a second turbo Supra, I did try to start up the car while it was already running. I felt like an ass, got out, and put my ear next to the exhaust. I learned to watch the tach better :biglaugh:

By the way, for the record, if she's really a keeper, you dont need to spend that much on her. If you're spending money pretty often just to keep her happy, consider re-evaluating the relationship

I suspect sir, that you might be in the minority there. I myself am as well, and have a great girl by my side, one that understands the Supra relationship haha...

I agree with this. If you're spending all your money to make HER happy, then chances are you're not happy. I couldn't stand to be with someone who can't make their own happiness in life, that would be rough...

Mine definitely has a growl at idle. And I was mistaken. I guess I was thinking of all the MKIV 4" exhausts. ETS and BIC make 3.5" which is still plenty big for moar power.
