i say dont worry about going fast, its a truck. You start messing with it (turbo) its going to break. youve got a supra, make that fast. Do a full exhaust, cam and a head job, youll be laughing. lift it 3", throw a locker in the rear, geta winch, and well youve got the tires. So do that and youll go anywear. If want to do more and youve got IFS, go buy a solid axle and to the SAS. Done, off to the trails and youll still be reliable

some good information everyone! :)

jeff, i've already stumbled across www.surpacharged.com. i'm still toying with the idea of turbocharging my 22re. (22re->t) haha. but, i know a whole lot about 7mgte's, and i know they're reliable. i'm not sure what would be the best option, ya know? it definatly has to be reliable. i'm not planning on flogging the crap out of it.

i came across a few good posts over on www.wildyoats.com about a guy that has a 4runner with a 7mgte, and he loves it. i suppose this is what happens when you become fascinated with turbos and how they work. you want to turbo everything.

aaron, that thing is badass! i actually have one of those pics saved to my computer i think.

another thing- eventually i want to get into custom fabrication and whatnot, welding, etc... i want to be able to put any motor in any car, and i think this might be a good place to start, ya know?

i need to decide before spring time whether it's keep the 22re N/A with the p/p head, 1mm OS valves, cam, and full exhaust, or swap in a different motor, or turbo the 22re.

dammit. i really need to figure out what to do. i want "quick" on the street, and good offroad. decisions... decisions... dammit!

7mge->t would get you more of that torque that you would want, and you could probably piece most of a NA-T conversion from what you have around.

for the time being, i'm seriously toying with the idea of:

22re, P&P head, 1mm OS valves, mild cam, header back exhaust, and custom intake. perhaps a few more tricks that i have yet to figure out. i'd like to have about 200rwhp. :)

superchargers are pretty badass, though. :)

i think superchargers would be a better application for offroading than turbos.. just my opinion though

the truck is street driven WAY more than it is off the road. it's my daily driver.
