Subframe questions

Hello everyone,

I have some questions about the subframe for the Mk3. My subframe has a lot of cracks on it. Is that common?? I was just going to let someone weld the cracks up, but Im concerned beacuse it has a lot of cracks.
I have done nothing to this frame. I found it this wasy when I took it down.

Get a newer and better condition subframe and have someone reinforce it.

Looks like someone beat the shit out of that car. My friend's subframe looked like that too.
