I can borrow one.

I have not bought the last two from ebay. I bought them from "holley", through advance auto.

If that does not work out.... I'm cutting out the trunk floor, building an aluminum box that goes down to where the fuel tank used to be. I'm then gonna put my nitrous/fuel cell/ battery in the box and have a hinged bolt down lid on it. The stock hatch carpet will lay over it.

Sound like a plan? Oh the new FP will be an A1000

I gaurentee it's your tank that is screwing up the pumps. The strainer is not a filter, it's going to let small rust particles into the pump and the magnetic particles are probably causing blockages. Break open one of the pumps and check it out.

anyone know the resistance range on the fuel sender? I'm about to order a fuel cell and the custom hatch work is going to begin.

On that note, what does the inside of the tank look like? Have you ever tried cleaning it (I'm too lazy to read back through the thread just to check)?

since no one knows, you'll need to measure it yourself, full rake.

when you order your fuel cell, they will supply an adjustable sender. during installation, you need to decide how much fuel reserve you want... usually 1 gallon is enough and then set the zero point from there. Adjustable senders have two pots, one for empty and one for full.

what about ohms i'm seeing mention of amps but no ohms and you said you by passed the resistor this wouldn't have an effect considering it adjust the level of current flowing? sound though like something is clogging it.

Chris, FWIW inboard fuel pumps get loud when they get hot.

Either they aren't sitting in enough fuel to keep cool, or WAY WAY to much voltage going to it.

Also, are you sure the strainers are aok? If they were made defective, it could cause the pump to overheat.

The inside of the tank is CLEAN now. I have done the acid thing twice to it on two occasions, washed it out with water and gas.

The fuel pump is pulling around 11 amps at idle.

Doesn't really matter now. I just ordered an A1000 and a fuel cell.

When a Walbro starts making noise something inside dies. They then don't
pump as much fuel anymore.

Walbros are not the best of pumps, and because of this I don't even carry them
in my store.

Denso MKIV pumps, on the other hand... They rock .
