Just toss it in your garage and if a cop says something say "OMFG MY PLATE IS MISSING!!!???" they tell you to buy a new one, and awaaaaaaaaay you go

There should be holes there that line up with the holes in the top of the license plate. Only the top two screws are needed. Is this a stock front bumper?

Good God.... Well, at least he saw it coming.

The metal beam behind the rubber cover is predrilled and tapped for a specific size screw and thread. I think it's something like 6mm or 8mm with a 1.5mm thread pitch. You can get these dirt cheap at Home Depot.

Well, CRE came the closest, but he's still incorrect.

The fact that this is a very basic question is NO WHERE NEAR as bad as the fact that NONE of you know how to put it on!

Heh, it's been a while since I had to replace those bolts... so what is the correct size?

You can't really rag on anyone for this one... plates are one of those things that most owners put on *once* and usually the bolts are already there. It just happens that when I got my car (about 2 years ago? Wow, time flies) all of mine were gone and had to be replaced.

This really illustrates how f'in lazy I am - I didn't have any of the right size bolts or screws - so I just threaded drywall screws into the hole and called it a day...

I really need to bookmark this thread for the next time somebody gets on me for asking a stupid question..

Guys, I just noticed today that I am missing a screw holding my rear plate in place. I know how to install my front license plate (DUHHH), but I am wondering if installing a screw in the back is the same procedure. Thanks in advance!
