stupid head question

There is a minimum head thickness - is that the minimum because of interference issues, or is some wall too thin?

Basically - why is that particular number the minimum?

I'm not shaving my head - it's not coming off the car unless something catastrophic happens (crosses fingers). I'm just curious.

The 7M is a DOHC engine. If you mill too much metal off the face of the head it changes the installed height of the head and alters the cam timing - that's one of the biggest issues.
