Just clueless on what a sans translator is.....

....and after feeling boost for MAYBE a day... the turbo is out lol. It had a small amount of side to side play that I thought would be fine but not so much lol. Hooray for supras lol

In the video, it is an obvious enrichment issue. You just have to determine why. I would see what the Hz is from the AFM. I would not consider timing, because it would always be wrong. Meaning engine/cam timing.

Checking components related to it is not good diagnostic. Follow the manufacturers protocol. Toyota says Ne and KS are the primary enrichment inputs. The rest are just small corrections.

It's the opposite of an in situ translator which is what you have there. And you know that's less accurate metering right? For "an auto tech and not a newb to cars" you have an odd way of troubleshooting.
Ah ok, and yes its less accurate, I used a GM maf on my DSM and logs show theyre not the best, which is why I went to SD on it, but the Supra is just stock internals and not gonna be anything crazy, so for $60 I said why not... and like I said not that familiar with supras themselves which was why I needed help. Ive always tuned with a scanner

I will agree that a GM MAF isn't as sensitive as the kharman system, but I would submit that I did use a MAFT for 6 years, without a single hiccup.
Very smooth idle, very quick response, super easy to set up and no appreciable change in fuel economy. Just- for what it is and what it costs, it's a decent option.

Sounds like you're not all that familiar with EFI in general. SD is the least accurate of all. Your car though...

LOL...So the system that isn't affected in the least bit by boost leaks or turbulence, monitors and tunes for intake charge temps, and can still drive with a blown charge pipe, is the least accurate...Yeah youre right my AFRs are all over the place aren't they...

Not the least bit effected? Lmao. Seriously? Nobody said SD doesn't work, just that it's the least accurate which is true. Scan tool jockeys always crack me up because they're so lost without one. If they'd just learn basics they wouldn't be so dependent on them. Why they can fix modern cars but not older and simpler ones...

Do you read the threads on this site? You take care of your car, and I don't think it is a hack job anywhere. Just a guess. When you hack up the system, it doesn't matter what the input is anymore.

That is correct. The one that fails to accurately measure in the first place will not notice small changes it can't see anyway. And then there is the down stream issue.

Oh. Ok.
