I am buying a 91 n/a in the next couple of days, but i have a question or 2.

The power drivers seats works great for the lower adjustments, but the part to the seatback doesnt move!!! The seat is stuck in a very upright position and I need to relax the angle. How can i do this? The manual lever will let it go forward, but wont go back any further.

I will also be taking the engine out and replacing w/an imported one. I want to do the swap myself. While the engine is out, should I replace any other parts, or should I be ok. I plan on staying n/a for a little while then go turbo, either 7m-gte or 1jz. I guess I am saying this to know if I should just do what it takes to get road worthy, then do everything when i do my swap?

Thanks for the help guys. I am fairly new to this forum, but you guys have a ton of info for DIY'ers compared to others i have posted on.

No clue about the seat, but, YES!, do what it takes to get the car road worthy FIRST! Especially, if you are new to the Mkiii. Get the car running better than it did brand new before attempting any modifications. Take some time and use the search function in your upper right. Stay n/a for a while and get used to some of the cars' small problems before you tackle a turbo. Whole different beast. There is also gobs of info about the 7m vs. 1j on both here and supraforums. Good luck, and I'm sure someone will chime in about the seat.

Oh, and welcome to supramania!

isit a electric seat or manualy adjusted? ie there is a wheel that u can turn.If it is jammed then you mite have to do some "investagating" and "convince" the seat that it is in its best interest that it comply's.If not then i guess you can look up the tsrm on the body/chassis.

it is the electric seat. The "button" is missing so all that is left is the post, which doesnt move at all. The "button" for the sliding/tilting of the seat bottom is there and works perfectly. But the fact that the post for the recline function doesnt even budge is what has me frustrated.

I might buy a new seat from another member, but have no idea what to offer

Look for a diffrent drivers seat in the parts for sale section out of a parting out supra if all else fails.
