Seems the placebo effect is rampant in the automotive community, not just supra owners. But I will not bust on anyone for running one, even if it is just for looks and/or placebo, it's their car and their money. But if someone doesn't agree, just go pull a wheel off, compress the spring and undo the upper mount and move it around, the spindle will not be thrown around (unless the bushings are worn, and no brace will help this). Then do the same on a McPherson strut set up, you will see the large difference between the two
