so you dont cut up your downpipe(s)

Would rather not.

Gold thermal coated, and thermal wrapped. There are two seperate downpipes which run underneath the car, which each seperately connecting to a seperate collector pipe. I don't want to cut/bend one, and leave the other one the same and make the collector useless. the kit was made so it would be very close to the firewall, so you could slam the car, and still have plenty of clearance. How it is right now, the rear turbo downpipe is resting against the firewall.

I guess the only thing left is to bore the shit out of a 1J.

OK, enough people went over it, but I must say post #1 IS funny!! Signature worthy I would say.

But anywayz, yes, you could use a 2j crank in a 1j shortblock > main journals are the same and of course they are the same distance apart, else we wouldn't be able to make the 1.5jz ;-)

Would be very interesting to see this stroked 1j with 2j crank built. And yes, you would need custom rods. Will be a tough job though to calculate the required lenght to end up with the correct cr.

Hats off if you would do this only to not have to cut a freakin' downpipe, lol!!

Is there the extra stroke left in the block for the 2j crank? iirc the 1j pistons were at the bottom of the block, so there isn't much room left.. wont be able to keep the oil squirters (at least not stock ones) as the piston skirts will go past the end of the block by a decent ammount.. to much of a pita when a 2j block is available..

if you want to keep your kit complete.. take off your dp.. take it to a local fab shop and have them fab the same dp but with an extra 1 inch of height in it..

so it would work though.... just with shorter rods than stock 1j's. what are the negatives to having shorter rods? aren't shorter rods better for reving higher or am i just retarded? this isn't a bad idea.... it would be a 3.0L 1jz block. THATS SICK!!!!

EDIT: tissimo just posted on what i was going to ask. the pistons would go too low

Yes, you are right, didn't even think that far, that will also be a problem.
