That car isn't stripped at all - it has door skins, a console, dashboard...

As a matter of fact, as tissimo said, it's only missing the back seat and trunk wood...

I remember when my interior was stripped (and I mean STRIPPED, like there weren't any panels, carpet, seats, dashboard, or anything, just a steering wheel, pedals, and the door handles) my car sat a full 2 inches higher than it normally did. I never drove it like that obviously but it had to have been a good few hundred pounds lighter.

As for how to do it, just take off all the screws/bolts and everything kind of just comes apart =)

How did you get it so clean where the sound deadener used to be?

No, removing the interior will not make your car a few hundred pounds lighter.

Here is mine, hollow dash, no vents/heater/blower/stock speakers/shortened harness/custom carpet/etc.

I should have also mentioned I had nothing in the engine bay and no trans/driveshaft either. Still, with absolutely everything in the interior gone it has to be at least ~150ish lbs lighter.... it was a ton of stuff! Especially the front seats and surprisingly, the carpet.

looks like everything is in there, except the back seats but have removed:

wood, metal bracket, sound deadner in rear(on the carpet too), antenna/wiper motor, wiper, wing, tools, tire, jack etc... removed complete ac system and other various items

i'm making it lighter to make up for the difference in the roll cage being installed, but once the car is running the following will be done:

battery reloc, race buckets, roll cage (100-150ish pounds added not sure how much piping it will take)

i'm also a firm believer in a very light drivetrain so: efans, lighter crank pulley, lightened flywheel and single piece aluminum driveshaft are on the list.

sound deadener is still there on Dutch's car, it's just been cleaned well, and it's not stripped unless it doens't have a dash :D

Wish i had pics from the car that was at TX2K7, had nothing in it and a custom lightweight dash (not much)

Still not into stripping a luxury GT car...

imo the rear is soooooo much better without the rear wood/metal bracket.. gives so much more room for luggage or shit to haul around..

It really is, but I kind of want some sort of a flat section covering the spare tire well and everything. Has anyone ever made a new plywood thing that sits lower in the hatch? I've been thinking of doing one out of a sheet of plastic and carpeting it just so it looks better back there and I have a flat surface to put stuff on.

I like where this thread is going. More picks please.

I removed my interior and weighed it and there was 175 pounds in interior trim alone in my 88 Hardtop. With seats removed, the total is 321.5 lbs...

add some pictures:
