so i just went to the track tonight. its an 1/8 mile track and my car would just spin the tires half way down the track. off the line it would just spin, shift to 2nd gear the car would start fishtailing. third gear they finaly griped.. my best time was a 9.2 i know if it wouldnt spin so much i would have a much better time. so iam looking for some advice on what kind of tires to get that will hook good on the road and track, and be good streetable tires that will last for a decent amount of miles. i dont go to the track very often. i have 17in rims also. so if you know any good brands and so forth please help me out!! i know drag radials are street tires to but i'v heard they dont last very long on the street.

I just mounted some Nitto 555s on my MkiVs yesterday. Haven't launched on them yet but I know there VERY sticky!

Before the Nittos I had some BFG G-force sports that were pretty sticky! Lasted pretty long too! 400 treadwear tire.

My uncle runs some KDWs on his Cobra and he said they hook wayyy better than his Nittos did. I know he's making more power than you, too, so if they work for him you should have no trouble. He was fishtailing through first and second with the Nittos.

what do you guys think about the BFgoodrich G-force KDW2 NT's? price isn't bad and i'v heard good things about them.. also my rim is a 17 by 7 i do believe.. it has 225's on it right now, so would a 245 fit my rims? or would a 235 be better? i want something wider and a somewhat of a buldgy look to it

Keep in mind that that is a 530rwhp V8, should go better for a Supra :biglaugh:

Make some videos! I've been considering T70s as my next turbo.

The benefit of the smaller diameter rims is that they allow for more sidewall flex. Stock sawblades are pretty heavy, in my opinion, so using them for weight savings probably isn't the best idea.

Sidewall flex (find the right air pressure on a tire meant for your application), sticky tires, 15" rims= Hook and GO.

Poodles: LOL, yeah. But you'll hook for sure!

Project: Yes, I know, but if you throw some 15" Weld wheels on there, you'll have more room for a thicker sidewall, hence why I stated 15". ;)

Right on. :) If I were into drag racing, I'd grab a set in a heartbeat, but they most likely won't fit over the brakes I'll have out back.:(

Here 18" Nitto NT01 Drag Radials

http://www.nittotire.com/#index.tire.nt01

Great Tires, but not good for wet roads.

My best time in the 1/8 was 8.8, with that tires the clutch disk fail,

now I install a 6 punk disk

but I don't have the opportunity to test it.

Can't go wrong with BFG's, but sounds like the problem isn't your tires, a little throttle control is what most Supra owners need. I assume you've red the supra drag racing guide sticky?
