don't but a 600+ cc supersport for a first bike. If you are going to go 600 cc or so, get a used older katana 600, or an SV650(vtwin more forgiving)...
I wouldn't buy a new bike to learn on, get a used one, because its going to hit the ground at some point most likely.

600 katana(early 90's can be had for under a thousand)
Still, stay away from the newer 600cc super sports. they are not a good first bike. A brand new GSXR 600 is faster that the mid 90's liter bikes were.
