its there while driving but the sounds of the road and the motor muffles it since its not very loud. vibrating is more heard then felt and only occurs between about 3800-4100rpm

You sure you don't mean RATTLE instead of vibrate? Just asking since you said more heard then felt. Vibrations ARE felt even if they aren't heard...

You said stock shell. Does that mean you are still using the stock 2 piece driveshaft? If you do still have it, others have suggested that you check the carrier bearing. It may also be possible that the rear section of the shaft has begun to separate within itself and in that case it could still be the driveshaft, but NOT the center bearing. Just throwin it out there, I may be off base. You should def check everything that everyone else has already suggested as well. If all that checks out ok, and the noise/vibration persists, see if there are any local repair shops that have a Chassis Ears device as those are very useful in pinpointing phantom noises. GL!

If the doors are closed and widows up you will also hear things differently than with windows down or doors open.

Just sounds like a harmonic then, check all of the heat shields and make sure they're not loose/touching anything.

thanks IJ that was my first thought but just wanted to get some opinions
