strange sound from tubo

Mine kept loosening between the turbo and manifold, reinstalling the braces stopped it.

if the studs keep coming loose jump strait to the 7/16ths stud repair from driftmotion. Might as well if your puting a new gasket on. Once they loosen up again, it will destroy the new gasket in no time.

i will get those ordered today! i hope this fixxes it. thanks as always.

pulled of turbo last night and confirrmed that it was leaking through the gasket, bolts were not tight on the lower side.

my O2 sensor was very white on one side, must be running very lean still.
why is it that the spark plugs and O2 sensor are indicating a lean condition, but my wideband is showing normal 14.7 @ cruise and idle and 11.5 @ wot?

gasket and studs come in tomorow, so i will get it all back together in the morning.

This is great info, you wideband readings are worthless with a leak before the sensor.

Cleaning the mani isn't gonna hurt anything

Take the mani to any machine shop be it motor or industrial and they can deck it! It would be so easy and cheap...hell mail the thing to me and I'll deck it fir free! There are a few threads on here which show my machine work.

dam thanks! but i have to make some money and this is my daily driver, but as soon as i take a break from tattooing this summmer i will break it all down and get things decked! it only took an hour to get it all off, and two hours to get it on.

I wish I'd chimed in on this, cause the Permatex Copper gasket maker works great on exhaust gaskets. I've used it so many times, and to great results. It would definitely have helped in this situation.

Stock gasket from head to manifold has some kind of metallic coating on it. The turbo gaskets don't...

ok that was it:biglaugh: no turbo whine! thanks for all the help on the matter and now back to my bad idle issue:3d_frown: could be this could be that. lol
