It sounds like a vacuum leak. I had a N/A supra and some dude messed up on vacuum lines on the intake side. It was idling like crap. Plus the ticking noise after you turn off the ignition is normal on N/As, thats what they do. Also, if your vacuum lines are okay, then, try to make sure your fuses on the driver side are in good order, some supras have been known to have poor assembly ( read poor contacts). Make sure everything is fitted properly.

looks like a vac leak for sure. any further thoughts

ill have an ask at the parts store as its bound to have a different name in the uk.

hmmm would the manifold gaskets include everything from the throttle body to things like the cold start injector and the iscv? and obviously where the manifold joins the head etc.

would this work if it was a split hose aswell?

Yep that sounds like it!
ok well ill give it a go as soon as i have a spare couple of hours.

I guess its probably worth picking up a gasket set incase i end up replaceing a few. I know i never replaced the throttle body gasket when i did the plugs.

damn lol ill have to do the plugs aswell whilst im on.

I was born in Frankfurt, Germany. My father was military(puerto rican by blood) and my mother german. I grew up learning the slang butchered version of English(what we american's speak now). Took mandatory English in school in germany. I only got a "B" due to my american ways. My teacher was English though, I do not recall where about exactly. It was a long time ago.
