torque should be a bigger concern
True

As for Hp, I read somewhere that for the W58 is was around 400 hp for a good one, less for older worn out ones.

And for the r154, the sky was pretty much the limit. Thats a quote from where I read so dont yell at me lol

W58, depending on condition can be blown up with stock torque levels.

The R154, a good one, can take some impressive numbers.

The A34x automatic can take around 400-450whp with alot of tranny coolers.

One of the more common causes of a340e's failing is heat, so get a transmission cooler if you're going to have a lot of power on it.

Note: The A340E on the turbo is different from the N/A. (# of clutch packs)

I got to say, you are normally better than this. 'Cause that statement was bullshit.

Or at least how you are presenting it. The belief that the W58 is a weak sister, and the R154 can do no wrong, is wrong. Look at the R154 threads. One has ruined several just by using too strong of a clutch.

I was pushing around 310whp and about 330lbs/ft on my W58, but then my clutch went out, so...not sure if I wanna put anymore power to the W58. I'll definately go w/ the R154 if/when I get my Supra running again!

Will a 89' turbo auto tranny directly swap into a 89' Cressedia? I happen to have a left over tranny from a turbo car and was just wondering if it would work. Or do I need a NA auto tranny?
