stock rod break point

who knows where the stock rods break at usually? at the top, center, bottom? does anyone have any pictures?

my guess would be wherever the cross-sectional area is the smallest...

End cap failure is usually the issue... Caused from knocking and then siezing.

does anyone have any pictures? who has done a lot of research on the stock rods? i might use photoelasticity and finite element analysis on the rods to see what's going on in the rods in a strengths view. fatigue, heat, and cyclic issues might be thrown into the analysis.

also, i might do a compare and contrast between the 7m and 2j rod.

any info would be good.
