HAHAHA! i did screw up and use 240 grit on my sander and took some portions down to metal. Not much, but enough to aggrivate me to do extra work now. I got a lot of paint dust from sanding in the air real fast before i realized, "I'm not wearing my mask right now?" Geeeeeennnnnniiiiiiiiiiuuuuuuuuuussssss.. Oh well, I'm off to Napa to get more stock paint and some 400 grit to smooth the rest of her out. I'll try to start a thread and post progress pics.

im sure its not. japanese auto mfr's started using water-based paint back then... the domestics didnt start experimenting with such "new age" technology till the 90's. i would expect lead-based paint to have been phased out some time Before the 80's.
