get a long one if you can. it makes 10 times easier to tighten and loosen the bolts when the cams are in.

True, however I couldnt find an extended one anywhere so you can also turn the cams, I used a regular length allen socket w/ an extention, and had no problems getting on any of them, as you can turn the cams and theres a flat spot on the cam for each bolt so you can get in there w/o a problem.

But definitely get an extended if possible!

Thanks yall! Just wanted to make sure I don't spend $60 on a set and not have the correct socket anyway....cams are off anyway so long or short don't much matter to me at the moment...although the long ones caught my eye but they only had them in standard size not metric:-(

I'm I the only car that has regular hex head bolts? My car sure didn't come with Allen's. I'm pretty sure my car is original. Now, It has A.P.R.'s bolts that are Allen head.

ARP stud nuts use a 14mm 12 pt socket...previously used a 9/16" 12 pt. ARP went to ISO standard a couple years ago which requires heads to match metric threads.

Lol thanks guys but in all honesty sear, lowes, and home depot sell good tools.

Got my set earlier today at lowes (husky brand)...they cost me $12...head is now already off the car....I was very suprised that this car was pouring white smoke as 1,2,3,5,6 were really deformed (headgasket that is)...gasket was def about to blow!

When you get the head back on, dont be shocked that its going to be pouring white smoke.

Mine did it at least for 10 miles after. Had to get rid of what was left.
