Considering it came off a running car with no problems i doubt its that. Could have wastegate cracks on the housing tho.

Mine had a couple small ones but boosted fine. "heard" of lots of people only getting around 5-6psi after installing the 57 trim. Buddys car only had 5psi after we built it and it was a fresh rebuild with new gate.

shimmed the 57-trim, feel a lot more powerful at 9psi (I'll acquire a boost controller soon to have more boost).
I must now modify my exhaust system as it is way to loud for streetability.

Can't wait to see how well it will perform with the spearco, 550 and lexmaf!!!

wrong sorry

what you do is make sure it moves freely some times it takes little hogging with die grind to get rid of the binde out

i had this on couple of cars just make sure shit is flu lent

If the wastegate is binding, that means it would be binding open, not closed. Otherwise he'd have boost creep or worse.
You must mean to check to see if its not seating on the port- ie: the rod it's connected to has slipped so that the wastegate
flapper is not aligned with its port. I could see that as a problem.

PS- Glad shimming the wastegate helped.
:)

what I meant was
in all the ones that gave me issues was once it got warm after a pull it got sticky and started to stick open never have yet to have one stuck closed

"Stick open"? Wtf?
Then why did you tell me "Wrong, sorry" to this???

Could be that too, assuming that it's sticking open slightly.
More reason to shim the wastegate.

And the wastegate actuator on the A340E car is the same as the R154. The lower boost reading is from the lower load of the automatic trans and its slippage in the torque converter.

Installed my 550c and the lex maf
with the 3" exhaust and downpipe and a boost controler, this thing pull like crazy
boost spike to 18psi then goes back to 16psi (very hot day, 33C and full humidity)
when the sun was set, I would hit FC at 16psi so I set it to 15psi and it still pulled strong.
I will need a new clutch soon!

This is true, same part number, The Mr2 Ct26 on the other hand is a totally different story. ::hang::

Im glad you got the 57 working, If it spins freely, you shouldnt have an issue. Glad you got it sorted out
