Hey so I'm building up my 7m for 600-700 whp. The engine is fully built, only stock part is my crank damper. I'm just wondering if there is a certain limit that the stock damper wouldn't be good anymore as far as horsepower. I know they have the ATI damper, but i was wondering how good the stock one was.

I will be revvin to around 7500 to, I'm sure that will have something to do with it...

First off

is it a BRAND SPANKING new stock OEM damper? If it is not, then toss it for High HP. Age causes the "rubber" portion to become..like a rock. Worthless.

ATI damper. Call it a day and have SFI approval also.

^ his just has a toner ring cut into it when I had a peek

most people will run fluid damper at higher level's in stead of elastomer

sadly no makes one as of yet but they do make them for the jz's thou

Evidently you missed the massive size increase, then.

I was actually searching the web to find out why you needed to upgrade your damper at higher power levels.. so thank you IJ!

I know the reg ati is larger then stock how much I can't really remember

Reg one is the same size as stock... if you don't know don't post it's misleading.

Glad I read this thread. Guess I'll have to stop by ATI and see what they have. The new one that I have on my build is Reg, I will see what they can do for 700+. Maybe just change out the diameter size?
