stock 7M clutch and stock 2JZ?

i've been trying to get a clutch kit from 935motorsports for a month now and the only answer i get when i email him is i don't know where it is. so needless to say i'm getting a refund for the CCI stage 4, 6 puck cluth kit i paid for. the only alternative i see is the SPEC stage 3 clutch kit. but i'm gonna have to spend another $100 or more for it.


sooo.....i was wondering how well the stock pressure plate, and if i just buy a OEM replacement clutch disc, would hold up. for now until i have money to actually start upgrading the engine with cams and a real turbo, instead of xspower.

how much Torque would i really have with the aristo 2jz? 320 at the most. so i'm thinkin the stock clutch should be able to hold that. it would save me around $500 where i can buy the things i still need to get her running. PW steering line, waterpump...etc. and then when i can buy a better clutch kit when i'm about to get more power. which would be in like 2 years.

oh, i'm not sayin bad about 935. the flywheel and fuel pump i bought look great.

You should be ok with the stock disk and pressure plate with your engine being stock. You could also just get an upgraded pressure plate and use the stock disk. Get ahold of Bigaaron for that stuff. I would definitly upgrade if you plan on getting more power out of the engine.

I recommend steering away from single-plate clutches with high torque ratings. They can give you crank walk

what about these F1 racing clutches on ebay. since i'm not throwing a whole lot at it, it might be good. the disc looks like OEM...here's what she says

lol... spend good money on a clutch.. or you'll be fixing it in a couple months if not less.. I mean hell you all ready spent 4k+ on a 2jz swap, just save a bit more and get a good clutch..

If you use a stock 7m clutch on a 2j it won't last a year, ask me how i know. I found that out with a 1jz the hard way now i have a spec stage 3(6puc) and that is way better, but i would suggest going with the full face version, but i love my clutch

I have the 3+ in my car.. its a very nice clutch to drive, grabs good, but only stock twins though..

what if i used the stock pressure plate and get just the spec stage 3 clutch disc?

i'd just buy the whole clutch kit and do it right the first time. the pressure plate not clamp hard enough and then you just roasted away a good clutch disc for nothing
