I have seen 7400rpm on my tach, still no limiter. I wouldn't trust it however, as it is not exact.
Nope ask aaron Stock ECU but some how toyota must have programed the oem chip off 1000 rpms ? because mine reved clearly up to 8000 rpms before fuel cut everyone was kind of confused wasnt labeled with tech tom, mines, blitz, etc. My guess is maybe there is some OEM ecus that rev to 8000 RPMS. Maybe you could ask aaron if it had a rom board inside of it? I am pretty sure it was an OEM toyota ECU though
OT: there was a small group of tuners back in the early 90's in japan that got heavily into modifying 1JZ ecu's named "Phantom," to my knowledge they never labeled their ECU's.
only way to tell was having an ecu with an unmarked daughter board IIRC.
just thought I'd throw that out there, one of the cars they made was apparently extremely fast in the mid 90's until the break up of the original "midnight club." anyhow, good luck figuring it out. my friend taka said they had modified the ecu far beyond what mines, blitz or any others had ever done. it would be neat to get ahold of one, oh well.. gotta love stories, they say there always a certain truth.

aaron must have one of the "phantom" ECUs :dunno: I am pretty sure my car also had more hp with this ecu also it didnt run lean at all maybe even a little bit rich. ask him to look inside it ? I already sold it to him about 2-3 weeks ago, Do you think they actualy decoded the 1JZ OEM ecu PROM and remapped it and plugged a EPROM in it? Maybe since the prom was hacked they could duplicate the EPROM ? then every one could get a more superior ecu for there 1jz for ~$100.

i went to 8000 on my sard ecu with Cams and it pulls hard after 6k the stock cams fall on their face.
