stock 1jz question

i just recently got back from iraq and i started driving my supra around. i noticed that if i mash the gas and go into the higher rpm's that the engine will like sputter until i shift. im pretty new to the whole turbo thing so im stuck. any suggestions?

Check and see what your plugs are gapped at and also check the coilpacks for cracks. If your plugs are gapped too high then it will sputter at higher rpm's. Try some NGK 6097's gapped @ .028 and see if it helps any. Pretty much the same thing Mr. Alfonzo suggested.

ya i got some today, but the engine was too hot and it was starting to get dark so im gonna put em in tomarrow and see if it helps. i gapped em at .026, should be alright tho right?

well, i changed out the plugs today and it runs 8000x better. it idles smoother and doesnt stumble anymore. what is the purpose of putting epoxy or nail polish on the stems of the coil packs?
