No, the 2j only needs 650 to make the same torque that a 1J makes at 803 :bigthumb:

Normal driving? I never go over 3 grand. I don't need 400whp to go accelerate to 45mph. I guess thats why I get 23mpg city MPG, I don't take off like an asshole at every stop sign and i'm still 10 cars ahead of the pack.

If I do a friendly highway roll, yeah, um.. my starting RPM is probably 6 grand and brake boosted. Duh.

That depends how much power you will have. If you have stock power then it's the best thing in the world.
Once you up your power you hate it. You'll whine out so fast it's frustrating.

I had 4.30 then went to 4.08 posi. major difference. Plus I have 19" so makes the gears a bit longer at that.

On your setup is different, I'm sure you have more torque then this setup.. as your turbo comes on faster then the 71, say at 2500 you have 3-4 psi where as this turbo maybe has 2.. On this setup it doesn't even have 100whp till 3500 rpm.. it would drive horrible in traffic imo.. I mean it will work, but is by no means zippie in traffic.. more like driving a dumptruck in traffic, haha..

drag racing, the powerband doesn't start until 5k in 3rd gear.. imagine 1st gear.. 6k.. 6k in 1st gear is 30 mph or so (even with a 4.30).. thats a HELL of a slip of the clutch or a BIG ASS STALL!! after that its all good...

Yea it does make power and runs great in upper rpms, its just hard to find the right balance with drivability and good power.. My 67 was pretty lethagric in traffic.. I had to rev to 3-3500 to accelerate quickly in traffic.. so.. more displacment to help it out ;)

I agree with drew on the gearing.. with my 67 cammed 1j, I felt the 3.73 gears were pretty short.. I was at the top of 3rd (115+) so fast..

Nice numbers, impressive for a 2.5 liter and bone stock inside. JZ's are very nice engines.

I drive a dumptruck in traffic everyday, I would rather drive the car ;)

I agree the 4.30 is a god send for the stock 1JZ when upgrading twins to single and getting more power out of it the 3.9 is the next thing to upgrade to nice pulls probably more power then I will make I have a GT35R setup most I will make to wheels is ~600 with cams.

then its a good thing i dont ever plan to exceed 400 wheel. (ct2657, 60-1 or aristo twins)
