ok, so ive had the supra, 89 na, for almost two years. it never overheated until about 5-8 months into having it, not sure. the tempature will fluxuate, and after a while of doing that it just pegs... then i check the radiator, its low, i fill it. it does the same stuff everytime, and i dont see any leaks. i just put a new head gasket on about a month ago, and about a weak later, it does the same stuff... and to note, when ever i pull in to stop and check it, the resivior is bubling and steaming out the heat. here are the things that i have done, and still to this day, it does it. i have put new hg, water pump, thermostat, radiator cap, and had it flushed. i have even changed some nasty looking hoses. please somebody help me!

Well i'm no genius but this may not be the right section for this post...
Does your fan work correctly? Is there air in your cooling system? How long after you changed your headgasket did it start doing this again? Do another compression check and lets see the numbers. What kind of HG did you put on it? did you torque it correct

yes, i torqued everything down right, and i just bought a gasket set for my car from oreilys, so its all just original stuff... im not sure if there is air in the system but would it cause the resivior to boil out antifreez, and to keep overheating?
So coolant is coming out of the reservoir? Or is it disappearing? It sure sounds like a BHG (Blown Head Gasket).

Ive been having the same problem with my NA and I just put a new thermostat and was like what the So know Iam thinking that its turning out to be a BHG again if its true this will be the second BHG maybe Ill just park the poopra and get a integra lol:3d_frown:
i am absolutly positive that it is not a bhg... even when i drive the car and it is warm then i turn it off... you could feel the radiator... it cold, like feel it in front of the fan. and you could also feel the lower radiator hose... it would be cold too.. now i might be wrong, but this is something that i also have not changed. i think it could be the clutch fan... anyone think i should try it, or am i totally wrong?
and, i also know i was wrong about putting the original head bolts back on, i should have got new ones, but i dont think that there is any problem around that area

You don't think there is but yea it makes a big difference.
Think about it like this.
You torque it to 75ft/lbs
The actual torque on the head may only get to 45-55ft/lbs because the bolts stretch.

Ugh, you NEEED to replace the radiator if it has cold spots...it should all be hot, that means coolant is flowing through it...So when it has cold spots>no cooling>engine overheating very quickly.
If the engine overheats, and the radiator is cold, you have either NO coolant, or MAJOR blockage somewhere, but in your first post its says boiling over into reservoir, so your not making much sense here.
you know... i think that you are right and that i need a new radiator. anyone know where i could get a cheapy....
