i been having this problem for a while and have already spent alot of time and money trying to fix it and now i'm completely lost on what to do. i started by checking the power going into the coil and its got power going in. i tested teh pick up coils on the distributer and they're good. i changed out the ecu and so thats not it. i changed the igniter many times and still no go. all igniters have been tested and found to be good. i have 2 coils that i both tested and tryed in the car. and i get the same results. i tested the resistance in the wire going from the coil to the distributer and its within specs. but after all this i still have no spark coming out of the wire coming out of the coil. i also checked the wiring harness for split wires and bad connectors and still no go. someone please help i need my car back with out spending another arm and leg for it.

maybe i missed it but have you changed the wire coming out of the coil?

just sounds to me like if the coil tests good and its not coming out of the wire even if it tests good its still worth a shot to change it.

Are your plugs not sparking? have you taken plug #1 out, grounded it, and tried cranking it to see if you see a spark?

If you do, take out all your plugs and take a lighter or a blow torch to them to burn off any excess fuel. The may be flooded with fuel and unable to spark. It happened to me many times...

Also while you are doing that, check the timing of your dizzy:

Make sure you turn the crank COUNTERclockwise to reach TDC. I tried setting my timing a million times before i realized i was turning it the wrong way (Damn brain farts...). :p

the spark plugs are fine and so is the dizzy i'm not getting spark out of the high tension wire coming from the coil. as far as i can tell thats the only problem so far once i get that going i can test everything else but without spark form thet coil i'm dead in the water.
