I never look at my guages when I'm cornering at high speeds or drifting (or in my case trying to drift), just listen to the motor.
Being that I am 6'2", I sit far enough back that looking at the guage in my steering wheel isn't that hard really. It's a lot safer than looking at the cigarette lighter location (did that before, but I need the port for my GPS now). I'm going to drive with it until I get my wires and vacuum line from 935 Motorsports (I forget them while finishing up my car late at night at Roberts shop). So I have a weekish to think about whether or not I like the location. If I don't, then I'll have to get a guage pod. I like the idea of mounting the guages on the stering column, although I want to get a set of Prosport guages and mount them in my stock guage cluster (replace the stock oil pressure, boost, and water temp guages with the aftermarket guages). Right now I'm on a very tight budget until I get my severance check from the military. I've been running with no tach (until today) and no boost guage since I got my car back from 935 Motorsports. Once I get my money, I'll get my Prosports and install them.
BTW, who sells the steering column guage pod? I want a dual guage pod for the steering column.
