I just wanted to close out this thread with my final results.
My pull to the right was caused by a neglected alignment and unevenly worn tires. The shops might call it "radial pull" but I would call it tire wedge pull. I neglected my alignment. I ignored the car pulling to the right. I have soft tires that quickly wore out unevenly. Re-aligning the car after the fact was to late and made the pull worse. As a matter of fact one of the tires that was worn before the alignment wore out quicker. I had lest contact patch on the road after the alignment with the old worn tires. A big NO! NO!
I got some new Hankooks k106 with a new alignment and the car drives straight and smooth. I swear the car seems quicker and the noise from the rear end that sounded like a bearing is gone. In retrospect I was probably stressing the bearings and other drivetrain parts by driving it that way. Another bit of information that might be helpful is the outcome of my first alignment. The shops tell you that you can align cars with old tires because you are aligning the suspension not the tires. Not in my case. The second alignment with the new tires showed that the first alignment was way off.
The first goodyear shop I took the car to for the first alignment did me a dis-service by not showing me the worn out wedged tires. They did themselves a dis-service as well by just throwing the car up on the rack and not checking it correctly. They lost the sale of four new tires. Bad business sense in this tight economy.
Ultimately I am to blame. Its my car and my money and I'm not a total newb at cars and I should have taken more time to check it myself.
