Steering Issue..

Hello all! I have a very weird steering issue. When I turn, it seems I have to turn more than normal for the car to actually turn. Replaced rack n pinion with a suppose-to-be-good one but issue is still there. Could it be something else? It seems that my steering wheel is very loose in the middle if you know what I mean (there is too much play). At one point I can steer the steering wheel a good 20-30 degree angle and the car does not turn until I am at 40-45 degree angle. Makes handling the curves very very dangerous. If you are wondering yes my supra has the PPS R&P. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks all.

Check the intermediete shaft u joints

Thanks I will look into a replacement. Ill take it out and inspect the treads and see how they are. If they look fine I might just need to realign it correctly. Is there a link to how the tread should fit?

Did you put new rack grommets on? I had an issue where my rack grommets were worn and the rack would shift left and right during cornering which made the steering unstable.
