Are you sure the CPS is set correctly? If you have it set correctly, when you put it back in the teeth grab and turn it so it's off by a bit. Easiest way to do it I found was with the cover off and turned back just a bit that way when it did go in, it was set where it was supposed to be.

That and make sure the the notch on the crank is at 0 and both cam gears are aligned with the notches on the back cam cover. I had the same problem when mine wouldn't start and this is how I did it.

It just never ends...

Yes, Drifter, he got it running.
Then he went to the polls, and voted for Obama.
Later, he met a nice girl, settled down, and started a family.
Then he got a promotion, and he, his new wife and two kids moved out of that apartment, and got a beautiful
little house in a great school district, and walking distance to a starbucks...
Then ANOTHER two years passed, and here we are...

At least that's how I imagine it went.
I could be wrong.
BUT- if mk3dude is STILL to this day, staring down at his broken motor, scratching his head and wondering why his car won't stay running...well, I think he needs to cut back on the antifreeze in his lemonade...
