im not sure, but i thought that if the cps was off it would just idle very rough and accelerate rought too. I don't think its the fuse because it seemed to crank for about half a second when i hit it with something

could i have knocked it out of place some how??? i didn't remove the CPS from the head the whole time i was replacing my headgasket.
umm...I thought the starter was the problem?
It's possible that the wiring to the CPS is bad, ii would check the connector...but if that was the problem, the car would still crank, just not start.

I purchased a new plunger and 2 new contacts for 29 CAD last week from an Automotive electrical shop in town. All the Toyota starters use the same pieces so they should be had easily from an electrical shop.
Avoid the dealer. They wanted 50 dollars for 2 contacts.
Hey i fixed the starter problem, after i replaced the contacts and now its starting but it dies after it idles for 10 seconds. It starts strong at about 1200 rpm, then slowly drops and dies and if i try to push the gas pedal it dies right away. Im not sure but maybe its not getting enough gas or something, any advice?
and when it idles its not rough either, its actually pretty smooth doesn't sputter or anything just slowly dies after starting
there is only one plug right? the one on the side, its plugged in, is there any thing else thats on it that needs to be plugged in? and how do i check for codes?
I finally figured out the problem, the idle wasn't set correctly so it kept dying when it started, but i did get on engine error which was a 22 but thats because one of the wires is pulled off of the water outlet housing. Thanks for all the help i think i can finally start driving it WOOHOOO:aigo:
