yea so far I haven't messed with that one. I have no idea how to make it tighten up. I've turned the bolts till they've gotten to the end of the thread on the front of the threads all the way to the back of them and nothing happens.
Here's a pic from before I started working on the car.

just to be clear, I'm tightening the right bolts right? I don't understand why this isn't doing anything. It's not loosening it or tightening it either.

I see you put sealent all around the gasket.

Next time, dont do that.

the ONLY place that your suposed to put sealent is at the fron where the covers go OVER the valve caps. their is a right angle, one dot on either side of the caps.

and use toyota form a gasket.

its WAY better then the stuff you used.

Hmm... I'm confused now. I though it was the cable with the small orange boot that was the problem.

I have only dealt with the throttle cable and the cruise cable. I wasn't even aware there was another adjustable cable under there. Is the cable right below the rod that conncets right above your circle in the picture?

That dosen't look my throttle setup. Can you get some better pics? What year is the car? If the motor was changed, they may not have switched the old linkage and used the one that came with the new motor.

I don't have that cable either... The throttle cable is the one just to the left of your circle, with the little orange boot on it.

Mine is the same, maybe its because everyone else is manual and we are auto.

I dont know how to explain the cable adjusters lol, I can do it without thinking so it makes it hard to explain... Just mess with them it should be obvious if you sit back and look at them. You want to loosen one nut which keeps the cable in place, then the 2nd nut tighten to shorten the cable(make it tighter).

OK I made a big mistake. I had everything put together and it ran really bad but I thought that was because it had a little oil in the cylinders. I looked over the engine last night and realised that I had 2 spark plug wires crossed and crunched under the manifold.

I fixed it and it's running AWESOME! I guess the cable is fine. It has the same amount of power it had before it broke down so I suppose that's just the amount of slack that cable has. I reset the odometer after I fixed that mistake and I'm at about 110mi with no problems.

There was water starting to submerge sparkplug 5 and 6 but I think it seeped in there when it rained and I was working on it cos there hasn't been water in there ever since. I think water seeped in through the plastic cover thing between the valves cos on mine it's pretty cracked and hard.

Here's some pics I just took about 15 mins ago. I went up to BestBuy and bought some speakers to go in the doors (to help with the sub in the back), so I got a pic of that too.

The Supra has been running for 360 miles now and it's awesome!

My roomate and I decided to take a drive up I5 today. He has a 1993 Subaru Legacy Turbo. Here's the part I don't get. He's got 163hp, my Supra has 200 right? So how come I got my ass handed to me then? He completely wasted me hands down. I was pretty upset. We both have automatics too. I don't really understand what happened. Even my 1992 V6 Camry LE (automatic) would beat it and it only has 186hp.

that cable is for the line pressure on the tranny...

also, the oil dipstick with just the loop is a common "upgrade" as it's easier to read... I have both and run the nice black T handled one but when I'm filling it with oil I use the other cause the oil is so clean I can't read the other stick...

a turbo will have a HELL of a lot more torque... not to mention that your HP is rated at the flywheel and his might be at the wheels...

Uhhh.... anybody say weight?

93 legacy i doubt weighs near 2 tons. The supra gets damn close.

**edit, just looked it up, subaru legacy crub weight: ~2800 lbs.

Supra: ~3700

There's your difference. :)
