my car has this wierd issue with stalling out occasionly when i come to a stop. it happens when i gradually push the gas just enough to get the car to 4000-4500 RPM's the back off the gas the car just dies.
the cars just slightly modded and the entire engine was stripped down and rebuilt less the 10K ago. any suggestions

Boost leak or bad BOV.
well that does make some kind of sense. riddle me this batman i have a slight hiss one the back side of the intake by some vacuum lines. this is also where my boost gauge is located and when i unplug the boost gauge and cap off the line the car will turn on bur immediately bog down and die that plus I can smell it going way rich

no boost leak just took all the piping off and inspected each piece no boost leaks and BOV is working just fine. any ideas where to start looking for another leak

Do you have a pressure tester made yet?

just pressure test the whole system with it on the car. Easy way to find the leak.

When i first got my 89, it wouldn't hold any boost at all... lol! it had quite a few leaks.

your BOV is probably the issue. when your AFM reads air that comes into the system it adds fuel to compensate for it, but when you blow off all that metered air into the atmosphere, the system runs rich for a moment and it drowns the engine out, probably what your car is doing

AFM is no more. im running a MAP ECU which takes care of the pesky AFM
