I bought the car with a bad engine soo a flatbed brought it to my house, once here I kind of washed it and cleaned it. Didnt want to do too much to it since I knew it would get dirty at the shop were they would do engine swap.

I brought the car on thursday only to find out the car wont go over mph, Yeah there is a tons of black smoke coming out, I been told this is a boost leak and well who am I to argue. I have also been told to check for error codes and these codes have been Knock Sensor and O2 aka Oxygen Sensor. What happens is I start driving it, it shifts into 1st gear then when I accelarate it kind of stays stuck, like in neutral just accelerating but going at max 20 mph. Yesterday I removed a spark plug and It was filled with black smoke. This worried me. The mechanic told me to change all the top sensors before running the car regurlaly but he didnt plug all hoses in and left something just sucking air I believe?

And these are the sensors he told me to change, so far I have changed most of them. Not sure how important these are to the issue.

K, 1st step for me in this supra build is to get it running because I kind of need the car asap. So what do you guys believe this is?. I hope its not a big deal but I am still worried. Mg man has been of big help its just I lost contact with him yesterday :(. Help?

boost leakkkkk

you can run your car with out an o2 and knock sensors...

any mods?

Not if its Automatic it will run like a SLUG.

I had a boost leak, and got Code 34, 21, and 52.

He only got code 21, and 52, but i still let him know to change his hoses.

and Sside why is your dash pot filter like that?

and Bluechulappa you were neglecting your other Toyota so it went to a better owner :sarcasm:

The mechanic who put this engine honestly sucked. That dash pot filter goes were? I have no idea because the mechanic didnt connect it. But Good News, after breaking my head for 2 days straight I decided to visit the mechanic and guess what he said. Do'h I forgot to connect the knock sensor. He told me to do it because he was scared to mess the engine up. So now I have what he said was a cut wire, i have to splice it and hook it up to the rear knock sensor. I located the sensor and I think the wire also but how the hell do I rewire it. I cant even see it. My father got his hands on another knock sensor and oxygen sensor. So assuming its bad I have an extra. Sigh. haha woop woop. Better Owner Woop!!!!.

There are two of them on the side of block. Even i cant seen them, you have to feel them. While thats there, check your intercooler hoses and change the lower intercooler hoses coming off the turbo anyway so you have one less thing to worry about. Why is it a bad thing to have extras? Even i have an extra o2 sensor

Nah I mean assuming the ones in the car are bad, I have extra :). I can see the 1st knock sensor but not the 2nd grrr. I am assuming I will need a conector right? So were do you recomend me to go get it? at the toyota dealer? or just any auto parts place. And it is just one wire going to it right?. I am gonna change the lower hose and all the top sensors and try and connect the knock that is unplugged. Oh look, I took these this morning :p. Thought yall might like to see emm.

Best advice I would give you is to do a headgasket job. That way you can take the head off the block. You will be able to see/work/rewire the knock sensors and whatnot without problem. And you can replace the headgasket because chances are it will be to be done very soon anyways. And when you do the headgasket get arp studs...

Alright BlueChu, If you havent heard from Derek. The car finally got fixed. It was a stupid Hose I was too lazy to check untill I was all out of options. The car seems to run better everytime and Up till Now I am loving it. Also Derek, remember that the car felt underpowered. Well it seems to be gaining more power every time I drive it. I still need to do some of things you told me. Ima go Do that right now. I will have more pics a little later when I clean the engine and actually give the car a propper wash(WAX it).

Woot! I think but I may be wrong. Someone correct me but he can take the fuse out of the fuse box for the ecu. Wait like 5 min? plug it back in and run your car really strong so the ecu can re-learn itself...

BTW my name is lincoln so you can call me that or linc instead of bluechulappa cause thats so long...

Disconnecting the Battery for 1-2min resets the ECU
Pulling the EFI fuse in the fuse box for 30sec clears the codes, that the engine had
