Sshhh, you'll thank me later. He was taking a very slight stab at you because you are coming off a part of the "cheap-out then blame 7M MK3 owner", you don't want to be that guy. :)

Anyways Autozone has helicoils, if you want to go with a bigger stud simply buy bigger helicoils and use high grade nuts and washers. (Remember to retourque the buts after a few days when the engine is cold)

Alright ill go check them out today, thanks.

Ill confirm my username?
You must be 1 out of 1 in the world of people who
do not fail correct? Im pretty sure i and everyone else learn from failure much more than from success. i often discover what will do, by finding out what will not do; and probably you who never made a mistake never made a discovery, you think that you would know what you know now about supras without people who have failed? i think not.

I'm smart enough to learn from other's mistakes....

Failure...90% of us have forgotten more than you'll ever know when it comes to the supra....you are making mistakes that others have made...we are warning you of such mistakes...you are not being a pioneer, you are being stupid.

When IJ says "you're doing it wrong"....then yes you will fail and your name will indeed be confirmed! You will be a failure!

That $70 driftmotion kit is stupid expensive...but they took the liberty of getting EVERYTHING needed to install helicoils....all the tools minus a drill! For the simple convience of a one stop shop sort of kit the price is worth it to a noob like yourself! Or you could pay an engine builder to do it at $20 per hole...your choice!

Ignorace is curable with education...stupidity last forever...don't make the mistakes that others have...learn from others failures and wins! If you don't take sound advice from the members here then you are willingly being ignorant which is now considered stupid!

What would I know I've never "discovered" anything ;)

Amazing that he's never read any of your posts or seen your work on here yet? Whenever i see pics of your custom diff setup alone i get a little firm in the trouser department. Although i suppose it's not as technical as fitting a ct26 soft line kit but you can always aspire to that! :sarcasm:

Failure14 - Make sure that you have installed the flexible drain line with the angled fitting on the turbo. I have seen this drain line installed with the angled fitting on the block and it causes a severe kink in the flexible line. This will cause the oil drain to be restricted from the turbo and will lead to major problems. Also, I found it easier to install the flanges to the turbo (removed from manifold) and block first, then connect the flexible hose after the flanges have been torqued.

Just got it in today from driftmotion.
Let me tell you that big fat line is a pain in the ass
to put on, the flange was a bit uneven and i had
to do some modifying to the holes so that it would
sit on the studs, i had to take my manifold off, connect
the line to the block and turbo then put my manifold on. but other than that its pretty nice.

I have one question though, that big long line....
Where does that go? Ive looked in my TSRM but i
cant seem to find it...

Thanks in advance,
-Drew

Um.... or just loosen the 4 turbo to manifold bolts?

I hope you are not trying to say that the CNC'd flange was uneven....
Those flanges are made by Arizona Performance and they were machined with higher tolerances then the engine you are installing them on!!! :biglaugh:

Thanks, yea i see it on driftmotion but jeesh $70?!

Dude, price out all the stuff in the kit at the hardware store, the t-handle tool is $20, the drill bit is $10, and the helicoil kit is $25, then the studs are about $14, and the stover nuts are about $3.50. Plus it has some copper anti seize, and aluminum thread cutting fluid.

I'm really only selling those kits as like a community service thing :biglaugh:

Aaron was spot on, i'll bet if he had to tamper with the Arizona drain fitting on the block to fit it's not connected to the drain at all! Pics please.

To a noob like myself? If you read my post earlier you would have read that
i only have 2-3 holes stripped... Now if a engine builder does them at $20 a hole, thats $60! The driftmotion kit is $70 + shipping... Now that i think about it im pretty sure theres only 2 holes stripped... And im getting called the ignorant one here...

@ Aaron, No i wasnt saying the Flanges were uneven i was just saying
the holes didnt line up... so i had to make one hole bigger....

@ all, No im not saying 1J is an idiot... But the remark he posted earlier was beyond
the point of mature as even a rational thought, I'm sorry i dont spend my life reading
on supramania and have 99% Activity(1J)... Really? 99%? Id like to know what you discovered
sitting on the damn computer all day everyday....

Hmm lets think about this for a minute, Ian has the time to help out others on the computer because......? Maybe he has a kick ass job that lets him be his own boss, working when he wants, makes a bucket load of cash then spends a few weeks solid working on his projects.
Guess there'd be plenty of time to find new ways of solving problems and coming up with new ideas! ( you might want to do a little reading on his projects before targeting him with your smart ass comments.)
For the record if your holes didn't line up with a Arizona fitting you have either used the wrong size bolts or you have installed it incorrectly.

If you half ass anything on a 7M you WILL FAIL thus living up to your username, what's so hard to understand about that?

You're pissing and moaning like $70 is a lot of money, this leads me to believe that in fact you will half ass things on your car fulfilling the prophecy....

As for what I've "discovered" take a few minutes to look through any of my bigger threads...

IRS 9" Diff and Custom axles

The original prototype Whiteline sway bars

The original Teflon 7M Crank scraper

Custom one off Koni Coil overs

550rwhp LPG fuel system

to name a few off the top of my head.....

I've been doing this 30+ years so there are 100's more as I used to be a fabricator on a top level race team here in Australia.

What have YOU discovered?

As for "sitting on the PC all day" I agree I spend far too much time trying to help ungrateful little fuckwits and that will change.

And on that note this trainwreck is done.
